Prom Transportation

Posted on March 26, 2013 by Angelique

With Prom Season quickly approaching, many high school students are in full swing with picking out formal wear, ordering flowers and choosing their favorite mode of transportation.  For most young people this night has been one that they have dreamed about for years. It signifies a milestone in their young lives and their prom night will forever become a treasured memory throughout the rest of their lives.

Arriving in style in a stretch limousine is the perfect finishing touch to a memorable evening.  Limousine transportation can eliminate the hassle of getting lost or finding parking.

Renee’s Royal Valet takes pride in guaranteeing complete satisfaction for your prom transportation.  Our chauffeurs are not just drivers they are professional, courteous, reliable and well groomed in business attire.  Renee’s employs some of the best chauffeurs in the Twin Cities who have met all safety requirements including Criminal Background Checks and Motor Vehicle Background Checks required by the State of Minnesota.  Your chauffeur will be there every step of the way to accommodate all of your prom limousine transportation needs.  Parents can have a peace of mind knowing that your children will be safely transported to and from the prom by a professionally trained chauffeur.

Hiring a reputable transportation company is extremely important to guarantee a stress free evening.  There are several things you should keep in mind when researching a business you are considering hiring.  Listed below are the top 10 tips you should be aware of when renting a limousine for your Twin Cities Prom:

1.  The Cheapest Is NOT Always the Best
The biggest error you could make when shopping for a prom or homecoming limousine is searching based on price.  In the Minneapolis limousine industry, there are many variances of quality and price. All too often, a cheaper price translates into a larger risk for you.   If you shop for a limousine service based on price alone, you will likely be frustrated and disappointed with your limousine experience.

•    Your prom limousine does not show up. You miss your prom.
•    Your prom limousine shows up late. You miss your prom.
•    An older model limo arrives at your door when you were expecting a newer model.
•    Your prom limousine shows up with an unprofessional chauffeur in jeans and a t-shirt.
•    Your prom limousine service gets into an accident and does not have proper insurance.
•    Your prom limousine breaks down on the freeway to your after prom party.

2.  Reserve Early
Since limos are in high demand during prom season, plan to book your limousine early.  We recommend that you book your prom limo transportation within the Minneapolis and St Paul areas one to two months before prom.  This should give you enough time to make the arrangements.

3.  Get a Signed Contract for Your Prom
Reliable and professional services will provide you with a signed contract for service. Twin Cities limousine companies who can’t supply a contract may not be confident in their ability to fulfill.

4.  Ask About Limousine Insurance and Permits
All limousine services in the Twin Cities are required to carry commercial livery insurance and register with MN Department of Transportation.  If need be, ask for proof of these with your signed contract.

5.  Ask About Limo Industry Associations & The Better Business Bureau
Companies who belong to industry associations usually must abide by special insurance regulations and service rules. Reputable associations such as the National Limousine Association (NLA) are good indications that your service provider does their due diligence. The Minnesota Better Business Bureau is another very good resource to see if a Twin Cities limo company you are thinking about hiring has had any complaints.

6.  Ask to See the Company’s Limousines
Check out the limousine you plan on renting for prom.  You don’t want to be surprised on your big prom day by an older stretch limousine when you are expecting a newer model.

7.  Choose Your Ride
You should consider how many people you’ll be traveling with.  Do you want to organize a group of friends or go solo with your date?  Figure out exactly how many people will be in your Prom group since that will determine the type of vehicle that you will need.

8.  Determine How Much Time You Will Need
Consider how long you’re going to need the limousine for.  Most companies within the Minneapolis and St Paul areas have 5 to 6 hour minimums on prom limousine rentals on the weekends.

9.  Method of Payment
Does the limousine company accept credit cards?  If not, they may be only a part-time company.

10.  Ask What is Included in the Prom Package
We provide ice, crystal glassware, napkins, soda & water.  Alcoholic beverages are not allowed or tolerated.  If alcoholic beverages are found the reservation is terminated and your parents will be responsible for picking you up.
